German Armchairs with Webbed Seats 1930s
Two armchairs, beech, webbing, Germany, 1930s.
This German set is executed with bent plywood and solid wooden seat with a webbed back. The style is typical for pre-war German design. Playful, bold lines and experimental material. The chairs are modest yet refined by means of the large, curved armrests. The set shows lovely, warm patina.
The chairs show similarities to Erick Dieckmann's Bauhaus armchairs.
