Gaston Poisson Large Art Deco Credenza
Gaston Poisson, credenza in mahogany, France, 1930s.
Sturdy credenza in with graphical door panels and parquet top. This four-door sideboard is equipped with several shelves and drawers which provide plenty of storage space. The shelves are beautifully detailed with a trim. Combined with the door panels and base these details show the great craftsmanship of Gaston Poisson. In this sideboard masculine elements are combined with highly detailed woodwork. The square and diagonal patterns and woodwork on the front, in addition of the inlay on the top, give these elements this cabinet a vibrant appearance and emphasize the dimensionality. GP signature keys in brass.
This credenza has a sturdy appearance, and is more robust than most Art Deco sideboards. Designers Charles Dudouyt and Gaston Poisson are masters in this style. They combine the more feminine and refined Art Deco style with graphical patterns and masculine elements.
