Frits Henningsen, three-seat sofa, fabric and oak, Denmark, 1940s.
This elegant three-seat sofa is made by master cabinetmaker Frits Henningsen. This refined sofa is a classic piece. The backrest holds small wings, which runs over into the armrests. The front legs show elegant details and great woodcarving. Overall, the seat is thick and creates a comfortable look while still being elegant.
Frits Henningsen (1889-1965) was a cabinet maker. Relatively little has been written about this master cabinet maker. He had his own shop in Copenhagen. His main concerns were the users of his furniture and the solid quality of his work. All his works are by his own workshop.
Please note that the item is in good, used condition but shows some signs of wear and use.
