French Set of Six Chairs in Solid Oak 1940s
Set of 6 dining chairs, oak, France, 1940s
A robust set of carved wooden dining chairs. These chairs are made of stained oak wood and sculpturally crafted by hand. The craftsmanship is still visible, for instance, traces of gouge cut are still visible in the seats. Wooden joints are visible in the seat that connect the sturdy, tapered legs. The backrests are sculptural with curvaceous forms and a H-shaped slat.
