French Pair of Woven Cane Chairs 1950s
Armchairs, rattan, cane and black coated metal, France, 1950s.
This pair of cane chairs are executed with a rattan shell with two woven cane armrests. The seat are slightly tilted. The frame is black and sculptural and the chairs show strong resemblances of the chairs of Dirk van Sliedregt, yet their dynamic shape make them lean towards a more Southern European design. Although the chairs are very aesthetic and sculptural they are comfortable to sit in too.
