French Pair of Carved Solid Oak Chairs with Dark Green Upholstery
Easy chairs, green fabric and oak, France, 1950s
These sculptural easy chairs are designed in France. They are of a high quality solid oak. These comfortable armchairs have an interesting open construction, with a slatted back. The seating and back and armrests are made of cushions, upholstered in a green velvet fabric. The back of the chair consists of curvy solid oak spindles that give this chair a sculptural, graphic look. They show traits of the French designer duo Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) and the De Coene brothers.
