French Pair of Armchairs in Oak and Off-White Wool

Sale price$8,700.00

Pair of lounge chairs, oak, reupholstered in Pierre Frey wool, leather, brass, France, 1940s

These beautifully designed armchairs of French origin hold a striking construction by means of the sculpted elements discernible in the wooden frame. The armrests are characterized by curved, strong lines with spherical endings. The backrest is nicely curved in a concave shape and forms a nice contrast with the straight front legs. Leather straps structure the seat in a horizontal manner and are secured to the frameby means of brass nails. Overall, this pair of armchairs embodies an evolved provincial character with great quality of elegance.

The chair has been reupholstered in a high-quality wool by Pierre Frey realized by the experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration and upholstery atelier.
