French Art Deco Pair of Lounge Chairs in Ocher Yellow Upholstery and Burl
Pair of lounge chairs, beech, burl veneer, velvet, France, 1930s
These beautifully designed lounge chairs are created in one of the most influential periods for the arts namely the Art Deco Movement. These rare lounge chairs originate from France and show strong resemblance to the aesthetics of the French designers Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann and duo André Domin & Marcel Genevriere. Distinguished by their sleek and slender profiles, these armchairs embody a captivating composition of geometric shapes, characterized by crisp, well-defined lines. The backrest exhibits a graceful trapezoidal silhouette. The front of the chair has a pronounced curve, further accentuated by the application of burl veneer. The armchair is positioned on a small platform, emphasizing its grandeur look. The upholstery adorning these chairs illustrates a fine patterned velvet fabric in the color ocher yellow.
Please note that the frame shows wear, scratches, and loose veneer. In addition, the fabric is in good, used condition. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
