Early Edition Fabricius and Kastholm for Kill International Lounge Chair
Jørgen Kastholm & Preben Fabricius for Kill International, armchair model 'FK82' "X", steel, cognac leather, Denmark, 1960s
This Danish lounge chair has a very strong appearance. The sincere construction and original leather upholstery gives the chair a character of its own. Due to the great proportions and the sloping backrest the chair provides great comfort. The steel frame is based on fluid lines that contribute to the chair's sleek and clear appearance. The armrests of the chair are wrapped in leather straps, giving the chair a detailed finish. The vivid patina that developed over time enhances the chair's authentic look.
Preben Juhl Fabricius (1931-1984) and Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) became friends in the 1950s at the School of Interior Design. In the 1960s they started a collaboration. Although they have worked also individually, it is as a pair that they have achieved their greatest success. During the eight years of partnership they managed to create a wide selection of very high quality designs. The results were often minimalistic and functional designs in steel, glass and leather. Most of the furniture of the Danish designer duo was produced by the German manufacturer Kill International.
