Eva & Nils Koppel High Back Armchair in Oak and Purple Velvet
Eva & Nils Koppel, easy chair, velvet, fabric, oak, Denmark, 1947
This rare lounge chair is designed by Danish architecture duo Eva & Nils Koppel and is a testimony to quintessential Scandinavian Modern Design. The grand seat is based on a solid construction, featuring strict lines and angular shapes. While the seat convinces with its bulky and voluminous appearance, the wooden frame in mahogany is surprisingly organic and open. A juxtaposition of various shapes define the sides with clean and curvaceous lines dominating the layout. The backrest is finely woven in a checkered pattern executed in off-white, lila, and matte gold threads. The seat is upholstered in purple velvet. The sincere construction offers a highly comfortable seating experience.
Pleas note that this chair is in good, used condition. The foam needs to be replaced and the fabric exhibits wear with stains and a tear. The frame contains scratches. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
