Eugenio Gentili Tedeschi, Fontana Arte, pair of table lamps, model 'Yoyo', red lacquered metal, pressed glass, Italy, 1971
A pair of wonderful table lamps by architect Eugenio Gentili Tedeschi for Fontana Arte. The clever design from 1971 features two bright lacquered metal holders for two pressed glass lights. The robust lights cast a warm glow and have playful appearance due to the red metal holders. These striking lamps are a great design for the world renowned glass company Fontana Arte, founded in 1881 by Luigi Fontana. Many revolutionary designers created works for the company, including Gae Aulenti, Gio Ponti, Vico Magistretti and Max Ingrand. Eugenio Gentili Tedeschi studied architecture, and worked at the office of Gio Ponti afterwards. After the Second World War he was able to open up his own architecture company.
