Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova, pedestal table, in red marble and metal, Italy, 1965.

Round pedestal table by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass. A orange-pink round base with black metal cylindrical column. The round top is executed in beautiful rose marble. A great contrast arises due to the different materials. The smooth black base makes another great contrast to the marble top with beautiful veins and colors.

Ettore Sottsass (1917 - 2007) is an Italian architect and designer. Among others, he is known as the founder of the Memphis Group, which is celebrated for its eclectic, postmodern designs in furniture. The designs of this period feature irony, bright colors and scale distortions.
