Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide First Edition 'Sintesi' Green Clamp Light
Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide, multi-way clamp lamp, model 'Sintesi Faretto Morsetto', first edition, coated iron, coated steel, aluminum, rubber, plastic, Italy, design 1976
The founder of Artemide, Ernesto Gismondi (1931-2020), designed the lighting series 'Sintesi' in 1976. This first edition lamp in green is highly functional as the position of the light can adjusted by pulling the arm upwards or downwards. The open construction and sleek lines add to the Industrial look. Characteristic detail is the grid consisting of bent iron rods. The stability of the lamp is guaranteed by a clamp-base, making this piece versatile and mobile. Gismondi made several variations of the Sintesi lamp objects that can be found in the design collection of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
