Erik Wørts Safari Lounge Chairs in Rosewood and Leather
Erik Wørts safari lounge chairs in rosewood and black leather, Denmark, 1950s.
Sculptural lounge chairs in black leather. These chairs appear as a dynamic piece of furniture due to their flowing lines in the leather and straight rosewood frame. The metal buckle-like detailing is what makes this design original and playful. The metal buckles connect both the front and the back of the armrests to the rosewood frame. The frame itself is straight and geometric but the leather seat is slightly tilted from the frame in order to provide comfort and the soft leather armrests complement the geometric frame beautifully. The rosewood shows beautiful curves and lines. Beautifully crafted and detailed are the sled legs. The frame and construction remind of the sturdy hunting chairs. An admirable patina is visible on the natural leather.
Please note that these two chairs are not entirely identical.
