Erik Chambert Swedish Grace Secretary in Inlayed Wood
Erik Chambert for Chamberts Möbelfabrik, secretary, inlayed birch, elm and rosewood, Sweden, 1930s
This Swedish secretary was designed by Erik Chambert during the 1930s. It features a high level of craftsmanship, with a wide variety of different wood inlays which is typical for Art Deco. This piece also showcases some neoclassical influences such as the carved green pillar on the interior, and the Doric column-inspired legs. The writing tabletop, visible after opening the storage doors, can be drawn out for easier use.
The felt on top of the tabletop is in fair condition and has a tear in the middle. Our craftsmen in our in-house atelier can replace the felt in a perfect way.
