Erich Stratmann for Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten, sideboard, ash, wood, Germany, 1950s

This sideboard was designed within the furniture line of storage pieces and a desk 'Idee Möbel Programme' that Erich Stratmann designed in the 1950s. Two sliding doors structure the front of this sideboard. The frame and one door are executed in ash whereas the second door is colored black and features a haptic suface with vertical lines. The clear structured sideboard stands on round, tapered legs with black ends. The ash veneered surfaces have a nice bright color so that the dark handle, the front of the left door and the feet form a striking contrast.
