El Ultimo Grito, free range table, fibreglass and cardboard mould, Spain, 2011.
The free-range table by the Spanish contemporary design studio El Ultimo Grito, is a design that grew out of necessity. Feo and Hurtado were temporarily living in Berlin and needed a table for their studio: they made one from leftover moving boxes, of which arised this stunning, eclectic piece of furniture. The table features a clear, almost mirror smoothened tabletop and a robust, sculptural base.
El Ultimo Grito was founded in 1997 by Rosario Hurtado and Roberto Feo. Rosario Hurtado was born in Madrid. Their creative process repositions and reappropriates the everyday elevating low-tech materials into objects of desire. El Ultimo Grito’s work is in the permanent collections of MoMA in New York, Stedelijk in Amsterdam and the V&A in London. Their studio is currently based in London.
