'Bone' chairs by Brazilian designer duo Eisler and Hauner. This chair is iconic for Brazilian Mid-Century Modern, from the 1960s. This particular piece is executed with a black coated steel frame and black lacquered wooden slats. These are straight in the middle and curved towards the ends and rhythmic positioned in a line. The cushions are upholstered in a night blue velvet.

Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) and Martin Eisler (1913-1977) were both born in Europe, Italy and Germany respectively, and immigrated to Brazil after World War II. They were both very much invested in the modern Brazilian utopia of creating a better world.
