Early Danish Settee Sofa with Patinated Leather
Settee sofa, wood, leather and fabric, Denmark, 1920s.
Exceptional example of early Danish design is this settee with robust, bulky aesthetics. The frame of the settee is made of wood. The back and armrests are upholstered with nail fitted, patinated brown leather. The leather has aged in a beautiful way, especially on the armrests it's noteworthy. The seat is finished with a soft cushion, which is upholstered in a green fabric.
The sofa is easily pictured in a beautiful country house.
The settee shows wear due to age and use, with some marks and scratches all-over. Leather with surface crackles. These flaws are only attributing to its authenticity and aesthetics, and is rare to find in this fine condition.
