Dutch Lounge Chair with Original Upholstery
Lounge chair, fabric and walnut, Belgium, 1940s.
This well-detailed easy chair features an outstanding walnut frame in which the legs and armrest form one line. The piece is attributed to Alfred Hendrickx for belform. The chair has a sculptural walnut wooden base, and holds a fluent, curved appearance, especially when seen from the side. The high back and curved frame give this chair a stately aesthetics. Next to that, the chair is comfortable and provides a pleasant sitting experience. This shape of the frame also features traits of the Eero Saarinen Grasshopper chair.
The upholstery is the original fabric, which is in aged and used condition. We therefore strongly recommend to reupholster.
