Wall lamp, teak, fabric, Denmark, 1960s

The design of this Danish wall lamp is reminiscent of Erik Hansen’s ‘Sax’ or ‘scissor’ wall lamp for Le Klint. The harmonica lamp shade features an illustrative pattern of different lines and shapes. The light shines through the beautiful fabric, resulting in a warm and soft light partition which gives the room a pleasing ambiance. The light can be adjusted in any preferred direction in two ways. First of all, by moving the lamp shade upwards and downwards and, secondly, by moving the flexible arm like an accordion, pushing it forwards and backwards. This wall lamp is a great example of seeing functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand.
