Alessandro Mendini for Fidenza Vitraria, 'Cubosfera' table lamp, glass and metal, Italy, 1968

Iconic 'Cubosfera' table lamp designed by Alessandro Mendini for Fidenza Vitraria. The cubic shaped solid glass cube creates a frosted glass sphere on the inside, which forms this admirable table lamp. The cube consists of two parts in which a half spherical recess creates the inner sphere. On the inside two light bulbs are placed. The glass cube is mounted on a metal plate, to which the light reflects through the glass.
