This grand set of 'Bequem' lounge chairs is designed by Stig Poulsson. The most striking feature of this extraordinary set is its sheer size. The width of this chair, almost a meter, is relatively large. Due to this, the chairs have a stately, grand appearance. The set holds a simple, strict and clean metal frame with a horizontal ash slat with a soft, loosely hanging leather seat and leather armrests. The chairs have been made in a very small production, only a hundred items were made. The first chairs were sold out of Mr. Poulsson’s design store in Kronprinsensgade in Copenhagen and soon thereafter, some were sold for export to US and a few European countries in selected design stores.
