Poul Hundevad, PH43 stool "Goldhøj", teak, black leather, Denmark, 1960s
This foldable stool is designed and made by the Danish designer Poul Hundevad. The cross-legged frame features a patinated black leather seat that allows the user to fold it together for transport or minimal storage. This design provides multiple purposes: it can be used as a stool, a pouf or tabouret.
Poul Hundevad (1917-2011) was trained as a carpenter and for a short while owned his own cabinet making company. Hundavad is known for designing furniture with historical references. For example, he drew inspiration from ancient Egyptian thrones and chairs.
