Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno, coffee table model 'T61', teak, metal, Italy, 1957

Elegant coffee table designed by Osvaldo Borsani and produced by Tecno. The table has a round tabletop of teak veneer, which is inlayed in a triangular shape. The metal legs are tapered and folded, creating an almost Industrial and contemporary look. Again, a wonderful example how Osvaldo Borsani's design were ahead of his time.

Tecno was founded in 1953 by Osvaldo and Fulgenzio Borsani. The core thought on which the company was founded was the idea that dwellings function as the fundament on which the quality of life is built. Although Tecno was led by functionalism, aesthetics has never been unimportant. Technique was the tool that led to typological innovation. The office world experienced an extreme growth in postwar Italy and it was mainly to this world that Tecno dedicated their innovative design and craftsmanship.
