Credenza, in oak and metal, France, 1930s.

French Art Deco cabinet in cerused oak. Sturdy sideboard with two sculptural legs which gives this credenza a floating appearance. The two doors on the front are nicely decorated and embedded in a wooden frame. Therefore the front gets a very dimensional expression. Smart storage facilities on the inside make this into a highly functional cabinet.

This credenza has a sturdy appearance, and is more robust then most Art Deco sideboards. Designers Charles Dudouyt, Jean-Charles Moreux and Gaston Poisson are masters in this style. They combine the more feminine and refined Art Deco style with graphical patterns and masculine elements.
