Adrian Pearsall for Crafts Associations, ‘cloud’ sofa, fabric, walnut, United States, 1960s
The ‘cloud’ sofa by Pearsall features a long, asymmetrical seat with sinuous lines. The bulky forms fit perfectly with the thick tufted seat and the additional cushions as backrest. This piece is finished with a build-in side table in walnut.
Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsman in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
Adrian Pearsall was trained as an architectural engineer and interior designer. In 1952, Adrian Pearsall and his brother opened a furniture business called “Craft Associates”. Pearsall designed the furniture and became a profound furniture designer during the midcentury “Atomic Age” that was recognized with geometric lines and shapes. The pieces are sensuous, sharing many of the design aesthetics by Vladimir Kagan. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.
