Achille Castiglioni for Flos, floor lamps model ‘Bi Bip’, ceramic, steel, Italy, 1977
Delicate floor lamps designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1977. The forms but also the materials make this lamp special in its expression. From a half-dome base in white ceramic a vertical stem in green-blue color is rising up. On top rests the artistic shade sculpture. A pin-shaped element in white ceramic holds the semicircular shade in metal that opens towards the ceiling. Extra decoration brings the thin metal ring that is attached to the shade. With the ‘Bi Bip’ Castiglioni clearly wanted to create not only a floor lamp but a light sculpture.
Please note that we have three 'Bi Bip' floor lamps in our collection. The smaller lamps measure a height of 193cm and the big one has a height of 218cm.
