Cees Braakman (1917-1995) follows his father’s footsteps as the leading designer and manager of Pastoe from 1948. He was inspired by the bent plywood furniture by Charles & Ray Eames and Alvar Aalto and started to use these innovative production methods at the company. The furniture of Braakman breaths the modernist and social principles. He designed many beautiful pieces with the “U+N Series”, known as the “Japanese Series”.
