Carlo di Carli for Cinova, lounge chair No. 915, metal and suede, Italy, 1969.

Elegant, tubular armchair designed by Carlo di Carli in 1969, manufactured by Cinova/Italy. The chair features a curved, nickled plated frame that holds the tufted, suede cushions. The piece has beautiful rounded lines, such as rounded legs and the curved armrests. The leather has a desirable patina with discolorations all-over, while the leather is still strong.

Carlo de Carli was born in 1910 in Milan and became an important architect and designer in the 1940s and 1950s working with Gio Ponti. He became a keen exponent of Italian furniture bringing it to the international market.
