Carla Venosta and Guido Zimmerman Shelving Unit
Bookcase by Carla Venosta & Guido Zimmerman for Arflex, Italy, 1970s
This steel bookcase with plexiglass shelves has a clean and geometric design which is emphasized by the rawness of the materials. This particular unit consists of five vertical elements parts with four shelves. The unit is exemplary for the functional and strong design of postwar Italy that bears references to architecture. The piece shows some great patina which adds extra strength to the overall design of this piece. Carla Venosta is known for using industrial technique and materials as the main feature of her designs.
