Bjørn Wiinblad, 'Hibachi' grill table, faience tiles and glazed concrete, metal, Denmark / Germany, 1970s

This garden table is decorated with hand painted ceramic tiles in blue and white color. The top features a removable centre beneath which is the grill. The table is signed 'B. W.' The combination of materials make it a great addition to a garden or patio but in fact might be meant to use indoors. The Japanese meaning of 'Hibachi' is 'a large earthenware pan or brazier in which charcoal is burnt to provide indoor heating'.
