Biosca, dining table, stained pine, iron, Spain, 1960s
Outstanding Spanish dining table that is executed by Biosca in a architectural way. The tabletop features lovely wooden inlays and knots giving it a natural character. The two bases feature a geometrical carved pattern. This is very typical for Brutalist style, while the type of pattern has references to Neoclassicism interiors. The table top is supported by two crossing tubular metal frames which are located underneath, which makes this a contrasting piece. The table belongs to the renowned Arts & Crafts movement and is executed in the manner of Spanish architect Javier Carvajal (1926-2013).
