Audoux-Minet for Vibo, set of chairs and table, France, 1940s.

This robust French set originates from the late 1940s. The seat, back and in case of the table the top are made of woven hemp from the abaca plant which is close to the species of the banana plant. This natural style is typical for the French design of Audoux-Minet and Vibo that established itself in Marseille. The blond wood provides a modest, balanced background to the rough abaca of the back and seat. This set would be great to use in a sunny space such as a veranda or orangery.
