Arne Vodder for Sibast Møbler, set of fourteen dining chairs model 430, teak, leather, Denmark, 1960s.
The basic and linear design gives these chairs a feel of lightness. The wood joints and rounded edges show great craftsmanship and attention to detail. This piece of furniture holds a natural expression due to the teak’s properties featuring vivid grains.
Arne Vodder (1926-2009) was one of the most influential Scandinavian midcentury designers. Once an architecture student of famous furniture designer Finn Juhl at Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Arne Vodder opened his own studio together with Anton Borg in 1950. Vodder collaborated with different furniture makers such as Fritz Hansen and Bovirke.
The seats feature different upholstery: eight are brown and six are in black leather seats. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
