Rare Antonio Cassi Ramelli Sideboard in Walnut and Brass
Antonio Cassi Ramelli, sideboard, walnut, brass, Italy, 1940s
This elegant Art Deco case piece is designed by the Italian designer Antonio Cassi Ramelli; a contemporary of Paulo Buffa and whom he collaborated with during the early period of his career. Truly striking about this credenza is the way Ramelli designed the vertical lining in the walnut woodwork. Also special is the repetition in the four legs of this piece, the beautifully executed base of which the legs slightly bend inwards. Three doors with each a brass handle in the shape of a double tailed mermaid lead to a spacious interior with shelving.
Kindly take note that there is a significant scratch on the top of the piece and some scratches and discoloration on the legs.
