Angelo Brotto for Esperia, floor lamp, brass, metal, opaline glass, cane, Italy, 1960s

Delicate tripod floor lamp by Italian designer Angelo Brotto. A large sphere rests in the center of three thin metal stems with brass ends. These three stems are adjusted diagonal and kept in place by cane wire. The cane is also used to highlight the spot where the sphere connects with the stems. Angelo Brotto designed the light source as a large sphere that is divided into a metal bottom in red color, whereas the top is made in opaline glass. The angle of the light is adjustable by moving the sphere.
