Aksel Bender Madsen for Bovenkamp, lounge chairs, teak and oak, beige velvet, Denmark, 1950s.
These lounge chairs by Madsen are executed by Bovenkamp. Madsen is known for his modest, minimalist designs. These lounge chairs have armrests made out of teak while the rest of the frame is oak. The frame has a sculptural look, due to its openness. The beige color of the fabric highlights the warm tones of the wooden frame beautifully. The piece is exemplary for the Danish modern period, which focused on form rather than merely function.
Please note that the chairs differ in height. The smaller chair is 85 cm and the larger chair is 100.5 cm high.
Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsman in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
Please note that the price is per item.
