Adrian Pearsall, sofa model '2167S', blue fabric, walnut, United States, 1960s

Classic, soft shaped sofa has a unique feel and although it is modest and simplistic it also shows soft, delicate lines and shapes. The walnut frame accomplished the sofa on the bottom. On one side the sofa is angled and features a walnut side table with included storage space. The seat and backrest are upholstered in blue fabric. Please note that the upholstery shows signs of age and use. We advise reupholstery before shipping.

Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), trained as an architectural engineer, was a sailor and interior designer. In 1952, Pearsall opened his own furniture company 'Craft Associates. Pearsall designed some of the most sensuous, gracious midcentury design pieces around, sharing many of the design aesthetics by Vladimir Kagan. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.
