Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates, 'Havana' lounge chair, ottoman, walnut, fabric, United States, 1960s
This lounge chair with small walnut armrests and wheels underneath, is designed by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates. The tapered wooden legs complement the soft, round design of the chair with ottoman perfectly. The armrests are a quirky details and thanks to their pointy design resemble paw-like elements.
Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), trained as an architectural engineer, was a sailor and interior designer. In 1952, Pearsall opened his own furniture company 'Craft Associates'. He designed some of the most sensuous, gracious midcentury design pieces. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.
