Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper 'M1' Dining Table in Marble

Sale price£14,667.25

Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper, dining table ‘M1’, marble, 1969

The M1 table by Angelo Mangiarotti exemplifies postmodern design with its skillful balance of form and function. The table’s circular top, made from strikingly veined white and grey marble, rests effortlessly on a cone-shaped pedestal, highlighting a contrast between the smooth, organic curves and the bold, architectural lines.

Angelo Mangiarotti (1921-2012) was an Italian architect and Industrial designer with a reputation to mainly focus on the needs of the users of furniture. His designs are solid and strong and he always used materials that would stand the test of time. Being schooled as an architect, Mangiarotti was very precise in using the right material and the right sizing for his designs.

Please note that the table is in good, used condition. The protective layer on the marble top has faded into a yellow tone, common for a piece this age. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
