Giuseppe Rivadossi Pair of Cabinets in Oak

Sale price$12,800.00

Giuseppe Rivadossi, cabinets, oak, glass, Italy, 1975.

An exceptional pair of cabinets by the Italian sculptor and designer Giuseppe Rivadossi, featuring a high level of craftsmanship in woodwork. The two pieces combined create a wonderful wall unit which offers plenty of storage space. A playful composition is created by the arrangement of different open and closed compartments. Smaller compartments at the top are furnished with oak and glass doorpanels. The lower part of the cabinets contain larger oak wooden doorpanels with a variety of frame sizes, also provided with glass and therefore an open but solid design arise. An extraordinary piece, established by intensive hand-planed and trimmed finishes.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.

Please note that the dimensions listed is based on the size of the two cabinets combined. These items are in good, used condition.
