Unique Italian Double Desk with Wall-Shelf in Walnut with Marquetry

Custom-made desk for two people with wall-mounted shelf. Luxurious detail are the wood inlays that show different motives. The desk is highly versatile in its storage facilities and functional use. With the L-shaped tabletop it can be used by two people at the same time. Drawers under the top and next to it and multiple open compartments allow you to store your items easily. Impressive addition is the wall-mounted shelf with integrated lamps. The fronts with wood inlays are joined by open shelves. The marquetry adds a lovely decorative detail to this set and also shows the high-quality and high standards of the client who commissioned this table for her house in the city center of Padua in the 1950s. The lady of the house liked to sew and therefore had special wishes for the table. The great balance of proportions, shapes and level of craftsmanship reminds of the designs of Gio Ponti.

Please note that this item is in used condition. Both the desk and shelf show strong patina and signs of age and wear. Restoration can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier.
