Willy Rizzo, table lamp, model 'Love', chrome, copper, plastic, Italy, circa 1971.
This unique table lamp is designed by Italian designer Willy Rizzo in the early 1970s. The design is mainly carried out through a repetition of cylindrical shapes executed in chromed steel, which enriches the overall strong character of the lamp. A larger outer cylindrical shade is installed over the cylindrical base and is finished with copper on the inside. This creates a warm light partition that reflects in the chrome material. Great piece that will add finesse and elegance to any modern interior.
Willy Rizzo (1928-2013), born in Naples, was a celebrity and Hollywood photographer. His models include Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn. At a later stage in life, Rizzo discovered that his clientele loved his particular aesthetics and sense for style so much that he decided to design furniture. Often his design where commissions from for example Salvador Dali or Marilyn Monroe. From the end of the 1960s onwards, Rizzo designed about 30 different furniture pieces.
