Wonderful Bauhaus desk lights designed by Christian Dell for Kaiser Idell in the 1930s. This delicate pair of table lamps of German origin embodies a splendid construction of round shapes and delicate lines. The shade is well-executed showing a rounded cone-shaped structure with a black lacquered exterior that creates a very sophisticated and soft light partition. A nice contrast is created between the elegant, thin stem and the broad shade, resulting in a visually interesting eccentric look. The base is also exectued in black lacquered metal and brings balance to the whole.
