Excellent table lamp designed by Angelo Brotto for Esperia. Its base and stem is executed in cast bronze and shows some remarkable sculptural details, which makes the overall design visually interesting. Therefore, this item is not only suitable for practical use, but is a genuine artwork on its own. Brotto's signature is visible on one side of the base. Walnut wood is used to decorate the corners of the base, emphasizing the luxurious look and feel to this rare piece. A modest white shade complements this lamp. Its design guarantees that it is the base which catches the eye. Please note that this shade has been replaced. The base is in excellent condition with almost no signs of age and use.
Angelo Brotto (1914-2002) was a designer from Venice. During the 1960-1970s he collaborated with Esperia, a glass maker from Murano. It was during these years Brotto became recognized as an excellent lighting designer. This lamp is an excellent example of his wonderful creativity.
