Superstudio Dining Table 'Teso' with Glass Top and Metal Base

Sale price$3,300.00

Superstudio, dining table 'Teso', metal, glass, Italy 1970s

Exceptional table by the Italian architecture and design group Superstudio. The rectangular table has a clear glass top. The frame consist of four large tubular legs executed in metallic coated metal. The legs are supported by crossed steel-wire. Due to the clear glass top the constructive base is nicely visible from every perspective.

Superstudio was set up in 1966 in Florence by Adolfo Natalini and Cristiano Toraldo di Francia. One of Italy's first anti-design groups as a result of the counter-culture. Their anti-architectural proposals used monochrome grid systems as a way to mediate and give equality to space. It was also frequently used in their furniture designs in the way of small white glazed tiles.

Please note that the base is in good, used condition with visible wear. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
