Extendable dining table, oak, France, 1940s.

Robust extendable dining table in oak with two additional leaves. The rectangular tabletop shows a parquet inlaid checkerboard pattern, which creates a vibrant surface. The sturdy pillar legs of this dining table clearly shows similarities with designs of French designers Charles Dudouyt and Gaston Poisson. With the cerused effect on the oak, the wood shows a nice white stained touch.
