Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet Table in Oak and Straw

Sale price$2,000.00

Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, table, oak, straw, France, 1950s

This rare table was created by the French designer couple Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. The legs of the table are made of dark oak. The wood was originally used for wine barrels. Therefore, it has a slightly curved form, adding a dynamic look to the design and showing the characteristic details of its original use. The rustic appearance of the wood compliments the round straw tabletop. Thick braids arranged in circles create a vivid pattern. The natural texture of the material creates a wonderful contrast with the dark wood and contributes to the decorative character of the design.

Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet are a French designer couple. They mainly designed pieces during the 1940s and 1950s and their general ethos was to create furniture made out of accessible materials. Therefore, in their designs, they often opted for different kinds of woods and natural ropes. With their furniture, they wanted to go against the wealthy character of design and make pieces that are more homespun and have a rustic feel.

Kindly take note that the straw is in good, used condition with signs of age and use. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
