Sideboard, cerused oak, France, 1940s.
Stunning and monumental large sideboard in a light colored cerused oak. The partition of light and dark oak due to the technique used has a intriguing effect. This design is typical for the Art Deco period and specificly the 1940s. The broad body of the sideboard combined with the square carvings on the doors and the base are used in furniture pieces from that time. There is plenty of storage space in this piece and the overall look of this piece makes it very attractive. The style of this piece reminds strongly of the work of designer Charles Dudouyt.
